I spoke to six different breeders before I found Huckabys.
As I spoke to them, I found some to be pushy sales people, almost desperate to get me to take a puppy even if it wasn’t the gender I wanted. Some breeders spoke of the mothers and their litters as stock and inventory. Some didn’t bother to give their puppies a name - just called them the color of their collar. Then I found Huckabys. There were tons of photos and videos of the pups, showing their individual personalities. The photos and videos all showed very clean living conditions, toys everywhere, happy playful puppies - all INSIDE a beautiful home. I quickly contacted them and was met with an immediate response - from THE NICEST WOMAN. We communicated late into the evening, and through our conversations it was obvious that she loved these puppies AND their mamas. I was so struck by her love for all of them, and her dedication to getting them prepared for life. I was floored when I saw her safety imprint, then the desensitization activities, she even introduced them to crates! Every single step was so much more than she was required to do. In a world where bare minimum is the norm, Rebecca shines by going so much further than any expectations we had. She sent home a bag full of goodies and new toys and food and a blanket that had mom’s scent. Bringing our girl home was such a seamless transition. She barreled through the front door and made our house her home. She was never afraid. She was curious and playful - and acted like she had always been here. She came home at 8 weeks completely socially prepared to enter our family. Rebecca has been in contact, checking on her and offering great advice to continue making this transition the easiest ever. I cannot say enough how special this woman is.
There is no shortage of breeders out there to give you a dog that meets the requirements of good lineage and good health. But, Huckabys Goldens are set apart by the love they experience from the day they enter the world. The love and light poured over each little soul of these fur babies makes them more special than any other out there. I feel so fortunate that I have the privilege of welcoming one of her pups into our family.

My family and I could not be more pleased or in love with our new addition. From the moment we contacted Rebecca about her amazing golden retrievers, she was very helpful with matching us to the perfect puppy for us. Rebecca always responded to any questions we had as well as provided great resources and information we would need upon bringing our puppy home such as training podcasts, product recommendations and acclimating techniques. Her puppies have been raised inside their home alongside her family and having the best temperament. I had the pleasure of meeting Rebecca and Patrick Krutz while on a Bachelorette party in Rosemary beach. I was able to talk to them while they were socializing some of their puppies to the sights and sounds of the outdoors and talk about the various neural stimulation and socialization tactics they use. I was able to hold one of their puppies and absolutely fell in love with her. A few short days later after I had returned home to Chicago, I could not stop thinking about the puppy or about how amazing the Huckabys breeders were. I some how convinced my partner to allow me to reach out to them to get some more information about the puppy in hopes she was not already adopted. Rebecca was beyond helpful and prompt with her responses and provided us with videos, articles, and podcasts with information on their dogs and training. After FaceTiming with them and seeing their amazing set up for the litter and meeting the mama and puppy, my partner could see why I was adamant about getting a puppy from a breeder in Florida even though we live in Chicago. They only breed one litter at a time to ensure proper care and stimulation and all of their dogs are non aggressive and as sweet as can be. Within one week, I was flying to meet Patrick at the airport and picking up our sweet, perfect, new baby girl. After getting her, the Krutz’s have been nothing but supportive. They truly care about their puppies and their new families and want to ensure they are going into loving families. It feels like fate that I ran into Rebecca and Patrick at the beach and we cannot express how happy we now are with our puppy.

Fast forward a year and a half, and Ella's thriving. A direct quote from the vet when we took Ella for her first appointment - “It's clear that your breeder showed a lot of love and care for the puppies.” From day one to Ella's first spa day (aka grooming), and even her spaying, Rebecca's been there with advice and support. She deeply cares about her puppies and is very invested in their happiness and success.
We can't thank Rebecca enough for trusting us with Ella and for all her guidance. Ella's not just a head-turner because of her looks, but also because of her sweet and friendly nature. We are hooked and it's very likely we will look to Rebecca again in the upcoming years to add another puppy to our family!

Let me start up by saying, I feel so very honored to have the opportunity to express my gratitude to Rebecca Krutz.
What led me to Rebecca and her puppies is what I call fate . I had lost three of my dogs in a short period of time at King Charles Cavalier and two Chihuahuas due to age related diseases and I’ve never had a moment in my life that I can’t remember having a dog so I had one little Chihuahua left and I’ve always wanted a golden retriever since I was a young girl, but they were not readily available. So, when I lost my dogs and realized my next dog would probably be my last, I was so very lucky to find Rebecca’s website for golden retrievers. I saw what she did for these puppies from the day they were born in her amazing environment. The videos she put out really helped me to realize all the work that goes into getting the pups off to the best start. I could see right away that she was very ethical and so very passionate about her dogs and wanted the puppies to just have every advantage which included all the health testing and early training and stimulation. I just saw everything she did and I was so impressed. It’s not about money with Rebecca. I could see that right away. It’s about the love for the breed and wanting to bring happiness to people like me that want every possible advantage of having a healthy dog and one that is aware of sounds and smells and all the things life throws at you. She does one very special thing that I am just over the top impressed with. Rebecca teaches them safety recall, and I didn’t really think it would work, but I’ve used it over and over again with my little puppy and I yell the “puppy puppy puppy” command and my little dog comes running. All I have to do is give him a tasty treat. This just boils down to recognizing that there are ethical and honest breeders out there. We need golden retrievers, but we need responsible owners and responsible breeders and Rebecca Krutz is unquestionably that type of breeder. We love our little puppy, Loki. And I have told all my friends and family. We won the lottery when we got Loki. I have just one more thing to share, when we got Loki, we had to transport him and she sent so many extra things that I never imagine she would do toys and blankets and food and all the necessary documents. Such a thorough , wonderful experience. Saying thank you to Rebecca just seems so inadequate.

Our Cooper is seriously the most well adjusted puppy we've ever had! At night he goes right in the crate and only gets up once and goes right back to sleep after going potty. I thought he would be scared of our other dogs at first, but no. He jumped right in and had a ball! The puppy “puppy puppy” recall Rebecca teaches them is AMAZING! On top of all that he is soooo cute! My husband and I both keep saying we will never get a dog from anyone other than Huckaby’s Golden Retrievers! We couldn't be happier and thank you so much!

Getting Boogie was one of the best decisions I've ever made and I know a lot of that comes from the amazing job Rebecca does with her puppies. Truly astounded by how easy and great Boogie has been right from the first day I brought him home. He is so easy going and loving. Easy to train and nothing phases him. Everybody comments on what a great puppy he is. Really can't put in to words how grateful I am for my new best friend. And Rebecca is awesome. Always there to help if I have a question and checks in regularly to see how Boogie is doing. If you are lucky enough to get a Huckaby's puppy, it'll be one of the best dogs you've ever had.

Rebecca is the best and most loving and involved breeder I have ever crossed paths with!! Our sweet boy has been incredibly easy to raise, thanks to all the love and socialization he received under her care. He slept through the night from the very 1st night! At just under 2 years of age, he's well on his way toward becoming a certified therapy dog. He's so handsome, loving and oh so soft!! One of his favorites spots is in my husband’s lap. He gets along great with other dogs and all people. You can't go wrong with getting a puppy from Huckaby’s!

From the moment I filled out the six-page application, I knew I had found the right breeder for my next soul mate—now known as Lilly Bear, formerly Sugar. I am so grateful for the love and dedication Huckaby poured into Lilly Bear and her siblings during their eight amazing weeks together. As a result, Lilly has been so much easier to train.
Even more, Rebecca’s kindness and compassion meant the world to me after losing my heart dog, Sunny, in January 2024. She was always there to listen and found thoughtful ways to honor Sunny’s memory as I decided when to open my heart to another golden.
