ABOUT US
At Huckaby’s Golden Retrievers, we’re a small, in-home breeder dedicated to producing Golden Retriever puppies with outstanding temperament and lifelong health. Every one of our dogs has full health clearances- hips, elbows, eyes, and heart (cardiac clearances are completed by a board certified veterinary cardiologist), as well as comprehensive genetic testing. We don’t cut corners, and we never breed dogs that carry genetic diseases common to the breed.
Our puppies are raised in our home, right underfoot, from the very beginning. They’re never tucked away in kennels... they’re part of our family. We focus on early socialization and problem prevention, giving our puppies the tools they need to grow into calm, confident, enrichment-loving companions.
Our protocol is thorough and intentional. Starting on day three, we begin Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Early Scent Introduction (ESI). Potty training begins at three weeks, crate training starts at four, and we imprint a safety recall with every litter. Beyond that, our puppies experience car rides, meet people of all ages, play with our other dogs and our resident cat, Blue, and get daily one-on-one bonding time with our family.
We raise only one litter at a time to ensure each puppy receives our full attention and care. For the first eight weeks of their lives, they’re raised with all the love and intention as if they were staying with us forever.
A few important notes:
• We do not sell puppies with full registration.
• We require an in-person visit or a FaceTime call before placing a puppy, so we can “meet” you.
• All adults in the household must be involved in the conversation to ensure everyone is on board.

Health and Genetics
• All of our puppy parents are health-tested and cleared for hips, elbows, heart, and eyes.
• We also conduct full genetic screening to ensure our puppies are not affected by any inheritable conditions common to the Golden Retriever breed.

Early Development and Socialization
• We begin Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) at just 3 days old to help support stronger, more resilient puppies.

• Our puppies are exposed to a variety of sights, sounds, textures, and environments during their first 8 weeks to help them grow into confident, well-adjusted companions.

Raised With Love, Inside Our Home
• Puppies are born in my bedroom, just five feet from my bed. For the first two weeks, I rarely leave their side.
• At 2.5 weeks, they move to our living room where they remain at the heart of our home—interacted with, held, and loved every day.
• We raise only one litter at a time to ensure each puppy gets constant attention and hands-on care.

Lifelong Support
• I stay in touch with every puppy family and offer lifelong support. Whether it’s two minutes after pickup or ten years down the road, I’m always just a message away.
• If, for any reason, you’re ever unable to care for your dog, I will take them back, no questions asked. My dogs will never end up in a shelter.

Ethical Breeding
• Our mama dogs are bred a maximum of 3–4 times in their lives.
• My dogs’ happiness and well-being come before the breeding program. These are my family members first.
